Overview
Lord Helmchen (Rick Moranis), die mickrige Verkörperung des Bösen wird von Skroob (Mel Brooks), Präsident der Spaceballs beauftragt, den Sauerstoffmangel der eigenen Welt zu beseitigen, indem er sich des Sauerstoffgürtels des Planeten Druida bemächtigt. Um den König von Druida unter Druck zu setzen, plant Lord Helmchen die Entführung dessen Tochter, Prinzessin Vespa (Daphne Zuniga). In letzter Sekunde können der Held Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) und sein treuer Freund Waldi (John Candy) die Prinzessin retten. Gemeinsam treten sie nun den Kampf gegen das Böse an, wobei hier kein Auge trocken bleibt. Mel Brooks zieht das gesamte Genre der Science-Fiction-Filme von Star Wars bis Star Trek durch den Kakao. Hierbei verursacht das Beamen weit größere Probleme als bisher angenommen, und auch die Macht von Meister Yogurt stellt sich plötzlich ganz anders dar.
